Just a quick update.

Well I think I am finally caught up with our blog.

Just to give everyone a quick update, Jason is doing great from his surgery. He did end up having blood clots in his legs two weeks after the surgery. So he is still on blood thinner and has to wear those cool white circulation socks. As for the neck brace, he is still wearing it, but only when he drives, around alot of people, or knows that he will be walking on slick side walks.

As for Glenda, she is still working at the hospital, but has a new position. She is over all the purchasing of supplies and equipment for the hospital. It is a salary position. She works Monday thur Friday, but it is VERY flexible. NO MORE 12 hour shifts. Last week was her first week of training, plus she was still covering on the floor with her old positions. For a two week period she worked 108 hours. She is very excited for this position and feels very blessed that she was asked to take this position.

For everyone that usually receives a Christmas newsletter from us. One is coming out very soon. It wont be a Christmas letter of course, but it will give you an update of what has been going on this year.

We are sadden by the passing of our dear Prophet, Gordan B. Hinckley this past week. We have been reflecting on all the great things he has done for the church. We are sad, but very happy to know that he is with our Heavenly Father and his dear wife.

p.s. Who ever is leaving me posts named, "Yours Truely" please let me know who you are. I have not been able to figure out who they are coming from.

Zach at the Orthodontist

Zach has finally come to a stage with his orthodontic work that he his having major work done on his teeth. The Dr. thinks that by April he will have his braces on. Here are a couple of pics of the last few weeks. We have been going every week for the last 3 weeks and have 3-4 weeks where we have to go weekly.

January 18, 2008 Week 1

Zach went in this week to have xrays and spacers put in between his teeth. No to bad

January 23, 2008 Week 2

Took the spaces out and fitted him for his bands that will go on the top back teeth. These bands will hold the appliance that he will wear for 3 months.

They took a mold of this top teeth so they can attach the bands to the appliance that will go on the top of his mouth.

January 28, 2008 Week 3

This is Dr. Graff. He thought I was a great mom because I brought my camera. So he said I could take his picture with Zach. I like him because he calls Zach, "Zacharoo" We have only one other friend that calls him that, so we thought it was kind of funny when he said that to Zach.

This is what Zach looked like after they cemented in the appliance. This appliance is at the top him mouth and everyday I have to tighten it with a key. Zach is doing good, but he hurts for a couple of hours after we tighten it. We go back next week to see if this is working, if it is not the Dr. said that he will have to have some surgery on his jaw. Keep your fingers crossed we will not have to have that done. We will keep you updated.

Sledding at Grandma's

January 12, 2008

Since we have had so much snow, Zach has been able to go sledding alot. Grandma Tolman has a park behind her house with a nice hill. I have to say this has been a great winter when it comes to snow.

Abby and Dallin waiting their turn at the top of the hill.
Zach in total concentration that he is going to hit the ramp and catch the most air.
This is Zach's best friend Ben. I wonder where his sled went. I guess he hit the ramp wrong.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was so nice.We always tell Zach that he can not get us up until 7 a.m. So right at 6:55 a.m. we heard his alarm clock go off and a few minutes later he comes in, jumps on our bed and says, " It's Christmas." As you can see Zach did very well. Even Bowser got a new toy.

Zach wanted a Robe, Thanks to Aunt Liz & Uncle Chris, his Wish came true.
See what Santa left. We actually filled the stocking earlier in the week, but Zach never noticed.
Jason was the big give receiver this year. He got an IPOD Shuffle. Now we just have to figure out how to use it.
Bower got a new toy to play with and lots of treats.

As for Glenda you can tell there was no pitcures, that is because I dont look lovely Christmas morning, but I also had the camera.

Christmas Sunday

December 23, 2007

Family Picture - We have been trying to have a "FAMILY PICTURE" by the tree each year. So this is it. You can tell that Jason is a little stiff. We had him take his collar and he was still a little sore. Our great friend Linda came over and took this for us. I think she did a great job.

I love these pictures. We had gotten Zach a new tie for church. He realized that this was a REAL tie. He has always had clip ons. So Jason kind of showed him what he needed to do. As you can see he did not do that bad. He kept practicing and now he is a pro.

Zach's Piano Recital

December 17, 2006

Zach has been taking lessons from a lady that lives down the street from us. A couple of months ago, he was told that he needed to figure out what he wanted to play for the Christmas Program. One day I came home and he was playing my favorite Christmas song. " Do You Hear what I Hear." I said, "Hey that is my favorite song." Zach said, " I know mom, that is why i picked this one." You can tell that he was nervous, but we think he did a great job. I was sad that I did not get to see the recital. Jason had surgery that day. He had a neck fusion on C5-C6 and I was still at the hospital with him. Thanks to Grandma Tolman and Aunt Debi I was able to have pictures and this video so I can see how well he did. His teacher says that he had a real musical talent. We hope that he continues piano, but I think he wants to try something else when he gets to Junior High.

There's no place like a snowy mountain

Jason has found a new sport for the winter. Last year he started to snow shoe with his bike club. This is what they do during the winter to stay in shape. This was on December 8th. As you can tell it was snowing alot. I have to say we are having a great winter in Utah.
